 Help Needed!

I'm pretty sure that just about everyone has a camera now-a-days. Some of you have digital cameras, but most have camera phones. Please send your photos of your geocaching expeditions and events so we can get them posted on the website.

Please make sure to scale them before you email them in. A good format is .jpg and a good size is 800 x 600 with a file size no larger than 150k.

Also, make sure to add names, comments, and locations and any other information about the picture that would help others know what's going on.

If you have the coordinates from where the picture was taken please send them too, this will be part of a new features to come.

Summer Time is Almost Here!

With summer right around the corner, new life is budding everywhere. Trees and shrubs are starting to put on their greenery, and the mercury is slowly starting to rise. It truly is a wonderful time of the year to be outside geocaching and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Things to remember about geocaching this time of the year.

  • Snakes are coming out of hibernation and moving around. They are very dangerous this time of the year. If you see a snake while caching... leave it alone! Go to another cache or wait for it to move out of the area.

  • Poison Ivy and Poison Oak are waking up too. Please make sure to watch out for these nasty little plants. They can really make you miserable with the pain they can cause.

  • Water Hazards. It's raining a lot and water makes the terrain slippery. Make sure to be very careful around areas that you aren't familiar with, you don't know how deep the puddle really is.

  • Temperature: The temperature is changing daily. Make sure to have clothing that will allow for adjustments. Also, make sure to stay hydrated as you are geocaching. It's easy to forget when you are having fun.
